Hello from Frances and Richard in North Dorset, UK. We are both writers of varying experience.
Richard is concentrating on non-fiction work, related to aspects of German intelligence matters in World War 2.
Frances is much broader and as well as writing is a photographer, artist and sculptor (visit her website at https://penguinartforconservation.com/ or on Instagram “frances.goddard_sculpture” ).
In July 2024 we were discussing how to have more creative August. Frances came up with the idea of writing for about 30 minutes. Taking turns one of us would choose a random word and our writing should start and finish with that word. After we have written our piece we read our writing to each other. We decided to try this for the month of August and here we are still doing it.
We have found it has improved our writing, and our ability to think up ideas. This has generated quite a level of interest and several people suggested we publish the results which prompted us to set up this website.
What to Post
We take it in turns to select from a month’s worth of our own writing. Occasionaly the other person’s writing may not be as strong but that is how it is.
The posts have not been edited (except for spelling and grammar) as a writer would for style and prose for publication so should be regarded as “First Drafts”.
